A fund is a group investment where you and other investors’ money is pooled and placed in a variety assets. This allows you to spread your risk since you’re not dependent on the performance of a specific asset type. For example an UK Equity Fund is made up of shares issued by various British companies.
You can also find funds with a variety of kinds of assets, or specific areas. There is a fund that will suit every investor, no matter what their level of expertise and investment timeframe or the risk tolerance.
Bond funds are among the most sought-after investments. They are comprised of IOUs (debt) – typically from government or corporate entities – and can be an investment that is less volatile than stocks. However, they may be affected by changes in interest rates and the credit rating of the issuer.
