Depart from Dar es Salaam to Kilwa Masoko. Upon arrival, relax with an evening at the beach and check in at Kilwa Pakaya Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, relax on the beach or choose an optional visit to the Kilwa Ruins. Return to Kilwa Pakaya Hotel for meals and overnight stay.

Optional Tour – Cultural & Nature Experience

Start by exploring the Kilwa Ruins, where you’ll see a mix of German, Indian, English, and Arabic architecture, along with the slave market, prison, and loading bay. Continue to the Old Port and visit the slave hanging tree, used during German colonial times. Then, head to the hippo pool for a lively welcome by the hippos' splashes. Enjoy a canoe ride, try traditional fishing, and take in breathtaking views of the ruins from the ocean. Paddle through mangrove forests and spot kingfishers and other bird species. End the tour with a visit to a salt farm to learn how locals harvest salt from the Indian Ocean. Finish your half-day tour with a delicious local seafood lunch.

After breakfast in Kilwa Pakaya Hotel, you will drive back to Dar with packed lunch. Drop off at your Hotel or International Airport back home.
